How accurate is your country information?
Country Navigator’s country guides are crafted using reliable sources, expert insights, and cultural theory, with regular updates to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Our country guides are created from several sources. We use publicly available sources such as the BBC Country Guides, the CIA World Factbook and the Economist Intelligence Unit. This factual information is supplemented by experts from the Country Navigator network of cultural and country trainers and coaches. We consult the cultural theory of existing researchers, updating with our own research where necessary and validate it all in a thorough review by our internal team of cultural experts.
We have a rolling program to review country information, which means we review every country every year, with a major update to each country once every three years. We also allow for reviews caused by world events, such as the war in Ukraine, or the regime change in Afghanistan.
Our goal is to remain apolitical and focus only on information that can be justified by our understanding of cultural theory. For this reason, we include guides on areas that are not strictly speaking independent nation states, such as Scotland, without making any political statement. Where territories have disputed names or status, we have followed the naming conventions employed by the United Nations.
