How accurate are the country Worldprism™ scores?
Country Worldprism™ scores provide a macro-level cultural profile based on extensive data, but they should be used as a general guide, not for stereotyping individuals or small groups.
To create the Worldprism™ profile for a country, we combine existing research, data from the 1.2 million users who have already completed their Worldprism™, and input from country cultural experts. Where there is doubt or uncertain data, we conduct our own survey using existing contacts to sense check our scores.
However an average score for a country is only a starting point and should not be used to apply to individuals or small groups. Country is only one of the elements of our own cultural profile. The score we used represents the center point on a bell curve – which means there is a large number of people with higher or lower scores – and that is before we account for regional variations.
If you ask Carla about a country profile, she will explain how to avoid stereotyping or misapplying the Worldprism™ profile at a national level.
Our top tips for using a country Worldprism™ profile:
- Use it to understand the general trend of a nation, but verify at an individual/team level.
- Look at the profile not in terms of absolute positions but relative positions. If you are generally to the right or left of a country on the scale, you can draw general inferences from that relative comparison.
