Enhancing Team Collaboration and Cultural Understanding

Country-navigator-ayvens

“The Country Navigator Worldprism™ Teams program was an eye-opener. It’s not just about language; it’s about understanding why people work the way they do. Since the sessions, we’ve become more conscious of each other’s strengths, which has transformed how we communicate and collaborate. It’s made a big difference in how we approach our work together.”

Head of Integrations, Operations

Ayvens is a global mobility company with a strong focus on digital transformation and integration. The Operations Department is responsible for managing six sub-teams that span technical architecture, data migration, back-office implementation and support, interoperability and satellite technology across multiple regions, including India, France, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Turkey.

THE CHALLENGE

Global Collaboration Barriers

With such globally distributed teams, Ayvens faces significant communication and collaboration challenges. Despite best intentions, the teams often faced misaligned goals and frequent misunderstandings due to diverse work styles, decision-making processes, and communication preferences, shaped by cultural backgrounds. These challenges hindered team collaboration and overall productivity.

Javier Santamaria, Head of Integrations, articulated this challenge, “People see life and work differently based on their cultural backgrounds. Understanding these differences is crucial to collaborating successfully, especially when managing a large, diverse team.”  Ayvens needed a solution that extended beyond language barriers to provide deep insights into the cultural values shaping each team member’s preferred work and communication style.

THE SOLUTION

Empowering Ayvens with Cultural Intelligence

To bridge these cultural gaps, Ayvens partnered with Country Navigator to implement a comprehensive cultural intelligence learning program. Including access to its digital platform, a team cultural profile assessment, live masterclasses, and bespoke team coaching sessions tailored to Ayvens’ unique needs.

The first Worldprism Teams training session was a transformative experience for the team. Javier, Head of Integrations described it as an “eye-opener,” revealing that effective communication isn’t solely about language but about understanding the underlying cultural factors that influence how people think, work, and relate. This realization shifted the team’s approach, allowing members to avoid taking misunderstandings personally and focus instead on the “why” behind each person’s actions.

Team members engaged in open dialogue and explored key concepts in cultural intelligence and global communication, discussing practical ways to apply these insights in daily interactions.
